I would like to talk about success. If we stop for a second to think, we all move to achieve success in our lives. Every day that we get up, the actions that we are going to take throughout the day are aimed at achieving success. But we don’t all have the same concept of success.

It seems that society imposes a model of success on us and that we must all be guided by this lifestyle, and anyone who breaks out of that format seems to be unsuccessful.

As you can imagine, I am referring to the model of success in which a person achieves a great job, earn a lot of money, buy great houses, and lead a life surrounded by luxuries no matter how absurd they may be.

And yes, that can be a model of success, but not the only one not the one that we should all apply. For me, success is achieving happiness. And happiness can be in being surrounded by your family, or in living very quietly without debts and mortgages, or having 3 Ferraris in the garage.

The problem is that many people don’t stop to analyze what makes them happy, they simply let themselves be carried away by the model of success and happiness that society imposes on us. Have you ever stopped to think what makes you happy? Do it, take sheet and paper and think about what are the moments that have made you the most happy, what things that seemed so incredible have stopped being so once you have achieved them and may be you discover yourself and what is your idea of success in life.

I think there are many people who by following a model of success that does not correspond to them in the end has led them to absolute unhappiness. In addition, with Social Media, even those successful models that I spoke about are highlighted more. They crushes us daily with those ideals and leads us to a continuous comparison.

But nothing is further from the truth, when you go deep into those profiles and the story behind each photo you discover that everything is a lie, that everything is an advertising campaign made to sell us absolutely everything. I believe that never in history have we been so bombarded by publicity as now. In addition, I believe that advertising has been transformed in such a way that for many people it is difficult to distinguish what is real and what is advertising, leading us to that false image of success and happiness.

I stop a lot to reflect on what my idea of ​​success is, what makes me happy and I try to avoid comparing myself with those false ideals with those that bombard us to lead us to a senseless consumerism. So now it’s your turn to think, what is success to you?

Me gustaría hablar del éxito. Si nos paramos un segundo a pensar, todos nos movemos por alcanzar éxito en nuestras vidas. Cada día que nos levantamos, las acciones que vamos a realizar a lo largo del día van encaminadas a alcanzar el éxito.

Pero no todos tenemos el mismo concepto de éxito. Parece que la sociedad nos impone un modelo de éxito y que todos debemos guiarnos por este estilo de vida, y cualquiera que se salga de ese formato parece que no es exitoso.

Como te puedes imaginar, me estoy refiriendo al modelo de éxito en el que una persona logra un gran trabajo, ganar muchísimo dinero, comprar grandes casas, y llevar una vida rodeada de lujos por muy absurdos que puedan llegar a ser.

Y si, ese puede ser un modelo de éxito, pero no el único ni el que debemos aplicarnos todos. Para mi el éxito es conseguir la felicidad. Y la felicidad puede estar en estar rodeado de tu familia, o en vivir muy tranquilo sin deudas e hipotecas, o tener 3 Ferraris en el garage. 

El problema es que mucha gente no se para a analizar que es lo que le hace feliz, simplemente se deja llevar por el modelo de éxito y felicidad que nos impone la sociedad. ¿Tu te has parado a pensar qué es lo que te hace feliz? Hazlo, coge hoja y papel y piensa en cuales son los momentos que más te han hecho feliz, que cosas que parecían tan increíbles han dejado de serlo una vez las has conseguido y así es posible que te descubras a ti mismo y cuál es tu idea de éxito en la vida.

Creo que hay mucha gente que por seguir un modelo de éxito que no les corresponde al final les ha llevado a la absoluta infelicidad. Además, con las Redes Sociales se nos remarca más incluso esos modelos de éxito que hablaba antes. Nos machaca a diario con esos ideales y nos lleva a una comparación continua. 

Pero nada mas lejos de la realidad, cuando entras en profundidad en esos perfiles y en la historia detrás de cada foto descubres que todo es mentira, que todo es una campaña de publicidad hecha para vendernos absolutamente de todo. Creo que nunca en la historia habíamos sido tan bombardeados por publicidad como ahora. Además, creo que la publicidad se ha transformado de tal forma que para mucha gente es difícil distinguir que es real y que es publicidad, llevándonos a esa falsa imagen de éxito y felicidad.

Yo me paro bastante a reflexionar sobre cual es mi idea de éxito, qué es lo que me hace feliz y trato de evitar compararme con esos ideales falsos con los que nos bombardean para llevarnos a un consumismo sin sentido. Así que ahora te toca a ti pensar, ¿Qué es el éxito para ti?
