Do not be afraid of changes

Since we are young there have always been things that have scared us. As a child we were afraid of the darkness, strong storms, animals … but as we get older some fears disappear and others appear, such as not finding the right person, being alone, losing our job and many other things.

But a fear that many people are not aware of or that on many occasions they do not recognize is the fear of changes. A very dangerous fear because it can make you lose the great opportunities of your life, and keep you completely stuck without moving forward or even keep completely toxic situations for yourself but not be able to take the step to change.

Overcoming those fears can be the key to leading the life you want to have and achieving the happiness you want. Many people get stuck in a job that does not make them happy and that only makes their life bitter but they do not dare to change. The same is true in relationships. I see many people who life in a completely toxic relationships but for fear of being alone they do not dare to end that relationship.

However, those fears are depriving them of meeting the person who can really make them happy, or of finding the job of their dreams.

I acknowledge that I am not an easy person to change, but I am not stuck either. I know when it is time to leave something because it is not the right thing to do or because it is time to change it. And I also believe that I have been able to take on important and risky changes with the sole objective of pursuing what makes me happy.

Obviously changes cannot always go well, and sometimes they will turn out well and other times they will turn out badly, but we must assume that to improve in all aspects of life we are going to have failures. The important thing is to keep going and not be afraid of changes.

Desde que somos pequeños siempre han existido cosas que nos han dado miedo. De pequeño nos daba miedo la oscuridad, las tormentas fuertes, los animales… pero según nos vamos haciendo mayores van desapareciendo alguno miedos y van apareciendo otros como no encontrar la persona correcta, estar solos, perder nuestro trabajo y otras muchas cosas.

Pero un miedo que mucha gente no es consciente o que en muchas ocasiones no reconocen es el miedo a los cambios. Un miedo muy peligroso porque puede hacerte perder las grandes oportunidades de tu vida, y mantenerte completamente estancado sin avanzar o incluso conservas situaciones completamente tóxicas para ti pero no ser capaz de dar el paso para cambiar.

Superar esos miedos puede ser la clave de llevar la vida que quieres tener y alcanzar la felicidad que deseas. Mucha gente se queda estancada en un trabajo que no le hace feliz y que solo le amarga la vida pero no se atreven a cambiar. Lo mismo ocurre en las relaciones de pareja. Veo mucha gente que se agarra a unas relaciones completamente tóxicas pero por miedo a quedar solos no se atreven a acabar con esa relación.

Sin embargo, esos miedos les están privando de conocer a la persona que realmente puede hacerle feliz, o de encontrar el trabajo de sus sueños.

Reconozco que no soy una persona a la que le resulte fácil cambiar, pero tampoco me quedo estancado. Sé cuando llega el momento de dejar algo porque no es lo correcto o porque es el momento de cambiarlo. Y también creo que he sido capaz de asumir cambios importantes y con riesgo con el único objetivo de perseguir lo que me hace feliz.

Evidentemente no siempre pueden salir bien los cambios, y algunas veces nos saldrán bien y otras veces saldrán mal, pero debemos tener asumido que para mejorar en todos los aspectos de la vida vamos tener fracasos. Lo importante es seguir adelante y no tener miedo a los cambios.
